I spent the evening editing the video we took on how to open a bottle of lamune. Andy (5 yr. old) came in while I was working, so I put the headphones on him so he could watch and listen to the video as I went downstairs for another beer.
The little tyke closed the application when he was done watching. I hadn’t saved it yet.
Good night, everyone!
Update: Just found out it was auto-saved. My bacon was auto-saved. Halleleua!
Hi Rich, I enjoy your podcasts and videos. This isn’t related to this particular post, but I noticed you had an old iMac that didn’t work. I don’t have Mac OS 8.6 anymore, but I have Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X (10.1.3) if you are interested. I know they will run on your iMac and I have no need for the discs anymore. I’d be happy to send them off to you.
Keep up the good shows, and glad to hear your cycling accident wasn’t serious.
Keith
On the bright side, you have a very organized, tidy and tech-savy 5-year old kid.
HA!
Images of Japanese Vending Machines:

That page has gotten a lot of attention lately. Something it doesn’t include is how common each of the vending machines are. It says #1 is soft drink, #2 is cigarettes, and that’s true. But #3 is definitely not porn, at least not in my neck of the woods. I’ve only seen those way out in the country on roads heavily traveled by long haul trucks. Actually #2 might be the “gacha gacha” machines that dispense toys. It’s rare that you see only one. Usually there’s an entire bank of them.
Maybe I’ll do a videocast of every vending machine I see in the course of a day. If it turns out to be boring I can always throw it in the chumbucket.
My daughter got a kick out of watching your boys open a bottle of lamune, and she insisted that I let you know that we found a bottle of lamune (bottled as “Ramune”) here in Texas, complete with marble. She was disappointed, though, because the lid was too tight to remove the marble.
I get a kick out of the vidcasts with your kids, and my kid loves to watch them, too!
Lamune bottles unscrew in the opposite direction, i.e. righty-loosey, lefty-tighty. If you didn’t throw it away already. give it another shot.
Could you possibly make a video back? They would love that. 🙂
Ramune, lamune, to-MAY-to, to-MAH-to.
