Many thanks to Dr. Michael for finding this! You can order I’s Cube’s CDs online for $9.90 + $2.60 shipping. Not only do they ship worlside, but they also accept payment in more local currencies than I’ve ever seen.
Plus, I’ve signed up as an affiliate. Maybe I can recoup some of the money I’ve sunk into this hobby. (If 1,700 people buy the CD, it’ll cover my most recent computer upgrade.)
Excellent! There’s one order. I had checked the site I usually import Japanese CDs from ( http://www.hmv.co.jp ) but they didn’t have it, so thanks, Dr. Michael, for finding a site that does.
w00t w00t, i’m omw to order right now! thanks for the great recomendation Rich.
count me in on the purchase of this CD.
Oh god… it’s all about the money now. RICH PAV HAS SOLD OUT!
I’m just kidding. I think it’s really great what you’re trying to do for this group.
Oh, so when I quip that you should get paid to write for a magazine, I’m a “naysayer.” But it’s okay to get paid for this? Aspiring copywriters take note: your work is worthless- try promoting someone else’s.
I don’t mind not getting paid helping two people launch a magazine on a shoestring budget. I’ll get reimbursed for my contribution in some other way. I also don’t mind getting paid 30 cents per CD while helping a very talented singer achieve her life’s dream. It’s not taking away badly needed money from the band, the record company or the website. For that little, I don’t feel like arguing over whether or not I’m doing it for the money. If you’re pissed at me for calling you a pessimist, then I take it back.
Though I prefer “realist,” I don’t want you to take it back. You are a good man, Rich.
I’s Cube is cool name, but the rapper Ice Cube may not approve. Speaking of interesting band names, about a year ago I saw a Japanese punk band at CBGBs who called themselves “Blue 3”. The lead singer was decked out in a yellow outfit with black bars, made famous by Bruce Lee in the movie “Game of Death”. They put on a great show as the singer did a bunch of kung fu moves as a part of their schtick. Then I realized why they called themselves Blue 3. Ask a Japanese person to pronouce Blue 3.
Hah! I noticed this as well with a Japanese band called “Orange Range” I always wondered why they chose that name, until I realized that with a japanese accent the two words rhyme. “Or-anja-ran-ja”
o-ren-ji-ren-ji
“Or-anja-ran-ja”
Sorry Erik, I don’t get it. That’s a strange pronounciation.
sorry.. I don’t know a thing about japanese. I was merely phonetically spelling what I heard the VJ say on “Pop Japan TV” 🙂
I also found it at http://us.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.aspx/code-j/section-music/pid-1004087616/
Yesasia.com has a ton of import stuff for us yanks.
Free international shipping, I think we have a winner. You know, their layout looks vaguely familiar…a company that’s not afraid to rip off Amazon to that degree makes me worry a little.
YesAsia.com how can I forget about that site…it’s actually a really good site to do orders on, I’ve purchased many things on that site and so far so good.
Thanks, that’s good to know. I tried looking around but ran into problems–time outs, internal server errors, etc.
YesAsia.com is very good. I actually don’t really have trouble with their site but play-asia was lagging like crazy for a while. Oh well, the more options the better! Now if I can only find Sugizo CD’s for less than $30. ;_;
