Boy, did I miss the boat last year.
Those 20 million really freaked me out. I wonder if I can get hit stats like that again, and this time monetize.
In other news, I’ve busy this week. I’ve been spending evenings visiting a good friend who’s in the hospital with pneumonia.
Impressive figures, but I really don’t know how Alexa comes up with them. I’ve checked my site stats at Alexa too, and they were also in the 10 – 20 million range. Except the statcounter on my site tells me I have something like 500 hits a day. Check the stats of that visitor map in your sidebar menu. I’m afraid they’re far more accurate.
I’m 7,500,350th in the Alexa rankings… not even enough traffic to be tracked ๐
Uhm. . . 20 per million. 20 out of every million estimated Internet users.
Alexa uses the Alexa tool bar as a baseline for statistical sampling. They estimate the percentage of users who use the Alexa toolbar, then extrapolate your traffic from that. So, it’s not perfect, but nothing is. It can be screwed with, but everything can.
Gee, I guess I didn’t have my thinking cap on when I wrote that post. What the heck was I thinking?
I just love it when people start a post with “Um.” It’s shorthand for “Hey, shit-for-brains.”
