A few months ago I stayed in Tokyo on Friday night and had to take the first train out on Sat. morning to go back home to Koga. I arrived at the station too early and had plenty of time to kill, so I decided to pretend I was a real photographer. Until now I completely forgot about these photos, but I quite like them.
I was trying to see the “women only” picture…what was that about? I’ve heard that public transportation can be overflowing during the workday; is this to address that?
I don’t think you’d ever see that in the US–too “sexist”!
During rush hour and late at night, one car on that train is “women only” so that women can ride without being felt up.

oh btw have you ever rode the shinkansen? is it a similar experience to the subway?
